Yes & I Love You Review:

I don’t know why I waited as long as I did to read this book. Honestly, it was a huge mistake. THIS BOOK IS SOOOOOO GOOD! Ah! So, first don’t be like me, pick up this book and enjoy it, then go find the second one and consume it within a 24 hour period. Highly recommend that.

Loved:

It’s a character driven story! Hollyn and Jasper are complex, interesting individuals that you can’t help but to root for. Loren does a fabulous job making them well rounded with reasonable flaws. Honestly some of the best crafted characters I’ve read in a while.

I am a sucker for “teaching” story lines. There’s just something so great about watching characters learn from each other and fill in where the other has gaps. And when the “teaching” explodes in everyone’s faces that’s the best. Mind you this book had the best transition ever. And those steamy scenes🥵, uh yes, very steamy.

THAT COMMUNICATION! My word, this the sexiest thing I have ever read. Hollyn and Jasper’s open conversations and not hiding things from each other was spectacular. I’m sorry, but unless you are up for that level of communication I don’t want it. The whole miscommunication thing is always one of my biggest critiques of books, and this one had NONE of that. They were so open.

Hollyn has Tourette’s and so does her best friend. While I do not have Tourette’s, I can appreciate the representation that Loren brings into this novel. Tourette’s was just as apart of their character as anything else and read seamlessly.

Meh:

Hollyn’s family is never actually put in the story. The relationship between Hollyn and her mother is brought up several times throughout the book but it’s never really addressed. Like how did Hollyn move away? How is her mother not more in her life? It felt like a plot hole. I wanted so much more from this.

Jasper’s whole story line seemed to fall together too easily? I had some major “push the I Believe button” moments because they didn’t fit. It was fine, just too coincidental.

Long Story Short

Do I recommend this book? YES! It’s so good. While I wish I would have read it earlier I’m glad I did now. It was such a complex, steamy, adorable novel that I know I will be pushing into other’s hands as often as I can.
